Being a graphic designer, the connection between printed trade mark characters morphing into three-dimensional representations presented a fascinating study into the design and evolution of trade marks. I have been collecting advertising characters since the 1990s. Along with fellow collector and pop-culture historian Warren Dotz, I have designed and curated my collection of advertising character art into three books, two of which have won design awards.
